Onshore Projects

APS has decades of successful experience in designing, drilling, and completing exploration, appraisal, and development wells onshore throughout the United States and internationally.  Our experience includes drilling HPHT wells onshore as well as extensive field development support.  Our technological exploitation and application of best international practices are key in the efficient and effective drilling and completion of onshore well programs worldwide.

Projects in the US

Montana

  • Managed drilling, completing, and testing of a vertical gas exploration well

Wyoming

  • Managed the drilling of a vertical gas exploration well

Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida

  • Managed the completion operations on numerous vertical wells.
  •  Managed the workover and coil tubing stimulation of a multitude of vertical wells

West Texas

  • Drilled 7400’ TVD / 17,700’ MD horizontal wells in the Permian Basin
  • Drilled an exploration well program in Central West Texas for normally pressurized wells

South Texas

  • Monitored and evaluated horizontal frac program on numerous 11,500’ TVD / 18,4000’ MD wells.  All were multiple stage (+/‐ 50 stages per horizontal section) “zipper” fracs utilizing BPM fluid rates and maximum sand concentrations of 2.5 PPG.

Texas and Louisiana onshore Gulf Coast

  • Managed operations for onshore production company in Gulf Coast area of Texas and Louisiana. Oversaw all production, workover, and stimulation operations, including deep HPHT wells, horizontal wells, and vertical wells
  • Performed remedial operations to salvage drilling of deep, HPHT gas well onshore,
    including:
    • Remedial drilling operations
      • Reviewed existing drilling plans and ongoing operations
      • Recommended changes to drilling plans
      • Oversaw drilling and completion operations
    • Well successfully completed with 4 ½” bit and 17 ppg mud system to near 17,000 feet deep
    • Well brought on production at client‐designed rates

 

Pennsylvania:

  • Investigated a horizontal blow‐out and prepared remedial regulations for the State of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

  • Managed drilling and completion operations for multiple directional wells

Middle East

  • Managed extended coil tubing, fishing, and re‐completion operations on HPHT well. o Planned, managed, and drilled 4500m HPHT well. o Planned and managed air drilling of multiple remote 2200 m vertical wells.

Mexico

  • Consulted for Pemex on a multi‐well onshore unconventional drilling program
